1894년 동학 농민 운동의 역사 속에서 농민군과 토벌대로 갈라져 싸워야 했던 이복형제의 파란만장한 휴먼스토리를 그린 사극 드라마. 조선 강토를 피로 물들인 동학농민항쟁은 단순한 반란이 아니라 봉건의 한 시대를 마감하고 근대의 신새벽을 열어젖힌 전환기적 사건이었다. ‘사람이 곧 하늘(人乃天)’이라는 믿음으로 자유와 평등, 민족 자주가 실현되는 나라를 만들고자 했던 아래로부터의 혁명이었다. 미완(未完)의 혁명이기도 했다. 항쟁의 소용돌이에 휩쓸려 궤도를 이탈해버린 민초들의 이야기로, 혁명군과 토벌대로 갈라져 서로의 가슴에 총구를 겨눠야 하는 이복형제가 써내려가는 애증과 영욕의 드라마.

TMDB에서 전체 보기It's a decent drama but a few things held it back. Inconsistent pacing was too obvious to ignore. The inconsistency carries on with the writing, sometimes they are strategic and smart while other times they throw themselves as a human shield, this is coming from the same army and the same leadership.
