Privacy Policy

PlayMark is an app for tracking the movies and TV shows you watch. This page explains what data we process, why, and what rights you have over it.

Data we process

When you create an account we store your email address and an irreversible hash of your password; the password itself is never stored. As you use the app we store your watchlist, favorites, watched episodes, notes, ratings, notification preferences and selected streaming providers, linked to your account. We do not store movie or TV metadata — only TMDB identifiers.

Analytics and cookies

A strictly necessary session cookie keeps you signed in (HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax). We also use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used; these collect page views, device/browser information and approximate location. Clarity may record sessions and produce heatmaps. We do not profile you for advertising.

Who we share data with

Movie and TV content comes from TMDB. We use Google and Microsoft for analytics, and Cloudflare for security and content delivery. These providers process data under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your data or pass it to third parties for marketing.

Retention

Your account and app data are kept until you delete them. Deleting your account permanently removes all of your data from the database. Server logs are short-lived and rotate.

Exercising your rights

You can delete your account and all of its data yourself, immediately and permanently, from the "Delete account" section on the Profile page. For access, correction or portability requests, use the contact channel below.

Security

All traffic is encrypted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed with a modern algorithm. Every piece of user data is reachable only through that account's own session, enforced server-side. The database is not exposed to the internet.
