一名身份成谜的“教授”招集了8名不同背景的罪犯，计划打劫马德里铸币厂。但他们的目标不在于厂内已印好的纸钞，而是在预计11天的占领过程中，印制全新无法追踪的24亿欧元。8名实行者均以城市为代号名，彼此间不问过去，不问未来。但在长达五个月的受训过程及占领铸币厂的期间，这群乌合之众逐渐产生感情上的化学变化。而耗费十数年编织了细密计划的教授，却忽略了感情这个最大的变因。罪犯、人质与警方，多方失控的状况下，让原本应该是不见血的理想犯罪成了充满血腥的狂乱事件。
