《广开土大王》将讲述创造高句丽全盛时期的广开土大王的一生经历。李泰坤和金贞花将分别饰演广开土大王和名为“雪知”的护卫。 2007年在SBS历史剧《渊盖苏文》里扮演过青年渊盖苏文的李泰坤，这次将饰演广开土大王，表演开疆扩土，戎马倥偬的征服者面貌。 金贞花扮演的雪知是靺鞨族的公主，同时也是一名草原上的女战士。她在成为广开土大王的护卫之后，一直陪伴他左右，相随至终。她仰慕广开土大王，但是始终将感情埋在心底。 另外，张新英将在戏里担任广开土大王的情人“莲花”。
