Kurtuluş Günü'nün yaratıcısı Roland Emmerich, dünyayı bu kez uzaylılar tarafından değil, bizzat doğanın kendisi tarafından yok ediyor. Devasa doğal felaketler, büyük paralar harcanarak ve bilgisayar teknolojisinin de katkısıyla nefes kesen gerçekçilikte sahnelere dönüştürülmüş.
