Na Londres vitoriana, prostitutas são barbaramente assassinadas, desafiando a inteligência e credibilidade da Scotland Yard. Corpos encontrados esquartejados, com requintada crueldade, deixam atônitas a população e a polícia. O inspetor Abberline é designado para solucionar o mistério.
