우주전함 야마토 2199
2199년 인류는 가미라스 제국과의 전쟁에서 패배하여 그들의 공격을 피해 지하도시로 내몰리게 되었다. 남은 생존 기간은 일년. 젊은 장교 코다이 스스무와 시마 다이스케는 화성에 불시착한 우주선으로부터 정체불명의 캡슐을 얻어 지구로 가져온다. 그안에는 인류의 마지막 희망이 들어 있었다. 마젤란 은하의 반대편에 가미라스를 물리치고 지구를 복구할 기술을 가진 이스칸다르 행성이 있다는 것이었다. 우주전함 야마토가 이 임무를 맏게 되었다. 이제 인류에게 남은 기간은 일년.
