1680年3月初旬の深夜、ある湖畔で司憲府大司憲（サホンブ テサホン）チャン・イクホンが何者かに重傷を負わされ、後に帰らぬ人になる。その事件の容疑者として、無実の罪を着せられたチェ・ヒョウォンと息子のチェ・ドンジュは、真犯人を探る中で罠にはまって捕縛、逃げ出したが、部下共々殺害された。命からがら逃げ出したヒョウォンの娘・トンイは、身を隠すために宮殿に入った。そして父と兄の無罪を証明する為に奔走する事になる。

It's a watered down tale with low tension and disappointing baddies which all made the insane runtime just a tad bit more unbearable. One of the BEST tv shows i have ever seen. I rank it with "Jewel in the Palace" and "Yi San, and "Queen Seondeok" I have seen this drama at least 3 times and watch till i drop then resume when i wake up. I give this drama a 10!
