Régis Outin was born on June 4, 1908, in Montbrison, in the Loire region of France. Attracted to the performing arts from an early age, he trained in theater and embarked on a career that would take him to the stage and in front of the cameras. A versatile actor, he alternated between the great classics and contemporary plays, working with prestigious directors such as Jean-Louis Barrault and Roger Blin. In the theater, he performed Claudel, Ionesco, Shakespeare, and Giraudoux, establishing a style that was both solid and nuanced. In the 1970s, he appeared on television, notably in the historical series Schulmeister, l'espion de l'empereur (Schulmeister, the Emperor's Spy) and Les Rois maudits (The Accursed Kings). His presence on screen, although rarer than on stage, leaves the memory of an actor inhabited by his roles. At the end of his career, he moved to Chile, where he died on October 25, 1987, in Las Condes.
