Galactica. Estrella de Combate
Hace cuarenta años que las doce colonias en las que se reparte la humanidad fueron atacadas por unas criaturas robóticas, los cylons, que desaparecieron poco después. Ahora han reaparecido nuevos cylon, biológicos, más devastadores y con intenciones más malignas. Para ello tienen infiltradas entre las filas humanas a varios de sus androides más peligrosos, algunos de los cuales desconocen su condición de cylon. Bajo la constante amenaza enemiga, el comandante Adama y la presidenta Roslin lideran a los supervivientes en la búsqueda de un nuevo hogar, un planeta llamado Tierra.

Adama solicita voluntarios para una misión final que quiere poner fin a los planes de Cavil de una vez por todas, aunque la Galactica acabará sufriendo daños irreparables. Tras la batalla final, la flota consigue realizar un último salto según las coordenadas de la música que Starbuck recordaba de su niñez y los viajeros llegan a un sistema solar con un planeta habitable, al que llaman "Tierra" en recuerdo de la decimotercera colonia destruida, ya que es éste realmente el planeta en el que acabarán su viaje.

Probably my all time favourite Sci-fi show and right up there with Breaking Bad and Sons of Anarchy with my top 3 of all time. The show is just perfect, the casting is realistic, the story-lines are immense with some great exciting moments. I can understand the initial backlash against Starbuck, it seemed like an unneeded change in a reboot that might be full of unneeded changes that could take away from the original in the same way that "V" would. Only the reboot turned out to be legendary and though I feel appropriately dirty saying it--for love of 1978--but 2004 Starbuck turned out to be so much better than the clean ladies man…
This would have been a far better show if I didn't have the original Battlestar Galactica movie in the back of my mind telling me there was so much wrong with this new telling. It's a great show. It looks fantastic. The characters are excellent. The intrigue and betrayal are gripping. But for me, there were just too many comparisons to what was being done differently this time around.
