Amy Poehler (* 16. September 1971) ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin, Komikerin, Autorin, Produzentin und Regisseurin. Nachdem sie Anfang der 1990er-Jahre Improvisationstheater bei Second City und ImprovOlympic in Chicago studiert hatte, war sie Mitbegründerin der Improvisations-Comedy-Gruppe Upright Citizens Brigade. Die Gruppe zog 1996 nach New York City, wo ihr Programm 1998 zu einer halbstündigen Sketch-Comedy-Serie auf Comedy Central wurde. Zusammen mit anderen Mitgliedern der Comedy-Gruppe ist Poehler auch Gründerin des Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.
