Norwegen in naher Zukunft: Während Europa in Chaos und Krisen versinkt, hat sich das Land wie eine Festung komplett abgeschottet. Wohlstand, Versorgung und Sicherheit der Bevölkerung geraten jedoch durch eine "von außen" eingeschleppte Bedrohung in Gefahr. Doch das ist eine Lüge! Eine einheimische Biologin und ein geflüchteter Farmarbeiter stemmen sich mutig gegen die Katastrophe und eine politische Intrige.

Der Widerstand
Die Zeit läuft gegen Premierminister Heyerdahl. Menschen sterben, die Lage gerät außer Kontrolle und das Bakterium breitet sich unaufhaltsam aus, kein Fortschritt beim Impfstoff. Heyerdahl bleibt keine andere Wahl: Norwegen muss um Hilfe von außen bitten. Die Weltgesundheitsorganisation befürchtet eine weltweite Pandemie und Norwegen ist nun hinter seiner eigenen Mauer eingeschlossen. Esther setzt alles daran, Charlie zu finden. Nur mit seiner Hilfe kann die Biologin das Bakterium besiegen – und ihren inzwischen infizierten Sohn Johannes retten.

Another reviewer beat me to the punch line and I can but agree that The Fortress, feels propagandised.
